Agile testing

What is agile testing?

Instead of waiting until development is done, agile testing happens continuously throughout each sprint. Testers and developers work as one team, catching issues early and making sure features truly meet user needs before they ship.

Do you have any examples of agile testing?

Say your team is adding a password reset feature.

While developers start coding, you're writing test cases based on user stories. You test each piece as it's built—the reset email, token validation, new password rules. You find edge cases through exploration and share them with developers immediately.

By sprint end, you've verified the feature works and added key tests to your automation suite.

Why is agile testing important?

Finding bugs weeks after they're created usually means wasting time and money. Agile testing catches problems while the code is still fresh in developers' minds and cheap to fix. It also means you're continuously checking that you're building the right thing, not just building it right.

What are the challenges with agile testing?

Agile testing can be messy. Requirements change mid-sprint, features get cut or modified, and you're always racing to keep up with development. You need testers who can think on their feet, work closely with developers, and balance speed with quality. Plus, maintaining automated tests takes real effort when the product changes every two weeks.
