This reminds me of the some of the key principles explored in Esther Derby's book, '7 Rules for Positive, Productive Change: Micro Shifts, Macro Results.'

I'd say implicitly, people probably already make use of this map mentally when considering new experiments, or planting seeds for new ideas for example. Formalizing this into an actual map will provide a more complete picture, exposing new paths, identifying missing ones, etc ... Seems like a very powerful thing to have available.
