The reality of change

A purple graphic features a large white quote in the centre that reads: "You've gotta be really realistic about what you can and can't change, otherwise you're going to end up in burnout mode." Below the quote, in smaller white text, is the attribution: "— Anne-Marie Charrett." In the bottom left corner, there's a cartoon illustration of a brain with large, square glasses and a slightly open mouth with small, sharp teeth. The top right corner has a white logo that appears to be "MøT." The background is a gradient of dark purple to lighter pinkish-purple, with faint white star-like shapes.
In this memory: Anne-Marie Charrett

Anne-Marie reminds us of the reality of what we can and can't change when in a leadership position. And the binary nature can be profound when it comes to burnout.

This reminds me of Steven Covey's Circles of Influence concept, which distinguishes between things we can get closer to within our control (our circle of influence) and things we can't (our circle of concern).

Do check out Anne-Marie's book, The Quality Coach's Handbook.

I wish this advice wasn't based on experience but honestly, sometimes you just have to go through the matrix....
