If testing and quality were individual snacks, what would they be and why?

Testing would be something with variety, that has an element of different sizes and flavours, even some randomness. As such, I think Revels as pretty much a perfect representation of testing. The chocolates come in different shapes, and different flavors, but each shape can be any flavor, so you don't know visually what you're going to get.

Quality is subjective, so my quality snack will be different to yours. I'm going for Sweet and Salty popcorn as my Quality Snack, with a tube of Smarties mixed in. I find this exquisite mix of sweet and salty delicious, moreish and I go back to it again and again. What is your pick for Quality snack?

Revels! What an excellent representation of testing. And I defo need to try that Sweet and Salty popcorn + Smarties combo. Sounds quality! 😋

For me, my testing snack is the humble packet of salt & vinegar crisps. While it's one flavour it comes in a variety of shapes, styles and tastes. And depending on the context, one might be more appropriate than another. I'll enjoy my non-branded cheap-as-chips small packet of S&V crisps by myself yet I'd be rolling out the posh fancy and larger packet for a dinner party. As for quality, it's a Cadbury's Cream Egg. As the advert goes, "How do you eat yours?"

S&V crisps are a great shout, because while the premise is one of the simplest, it's a classic, the execution across different styles and brands is huge. I used to love the Cream Egg, and it's still OK, but I wish it was still the original Cadbury's recipe pre-kraft take over. If we are representing metrics in snacks, it would be the humble Fredo, a true indicator for inflation and shrinkflation.
