It's a win-win-win

If there is one thing we believe in within Ministry of Testing, it's the win-win-win.

And no, this is not a typo. We did not accidentally add an extra win. Nor is this AI hallucinating.

The Win-Win-Win

For those that don't know, for fun and a side-gig I write about community building over on Rosieland.

As part of this community mindset, my goal with Ministry of Testing is not to create any old business. I want to create something with heart, soul and amazing community at the heart of it. If I can't do it differently, there is simply no reason for me to go on.

A short while back I came up with the term the win-win-win. It's a simple model about how to think about building with care and community in mind. As we build the MoTaverse, and basically with every decision we make, we try our best to make the best decisions for the people, the organisation and the ecosystem. It doesn't mean we will always satisfy each part, but we will try our best to find a fair balance.

The win-win-win. There are three parts to consider when building community. Find the win for all of them: people, organisation, ecosystem

MoT Friends is a referral program built with the win-win-win in mind

One of our biggest challenges at MoT is for people to understand that we are a business. Yes, we are a community too, but fundamentally we can't survive if the business side doesn't work.

We're trying to get the business side of things to work better, but in a way that the people and the ecosystem will win too. We are building this for you, so that planet earth can benefit from the better software that it deserves.

The TLDR; of the referral program is:

  • An affiliate type set up with links for people to share
  • It's valid for purchases of Professional Membership and Certifications
  • It applies to individual or team purchases
  • A percentage of revenue goes to MoT Friends in addition to a discount made available to customers
  • It's open to Professional Members only because that is the strongest signal that you care about what we are building
  • We've opened the doors in beta mode, DM me on the MoT Slack for more specific details (Access details for MoT Slack are in MyMoT)
  • We can't promise results, no snake-oil here, but we're going to try our best to help make it happen

Our goal is an audacious one. We believe in a future where every software testing professional should have an MoT Professional Membership and also aspire to our certifications in addition to our community-focused learning opportunities. We're not there yet.

We'd love for you to be audacious with us. Become an MoT Friend today, DM me on the MoT Slack to get started. 🤗
