TestChat 5: Discussing Device Testing

Read over this fantastic #TestChat on Device Testing

TestChat 5: Discussing Device Testing image

On the 28th February 2018, testers joined the fifth Ministry of Testing #TestChat to discuss all things Device Testing. Our questions were designed by Áine McGovern and Heather Reid.

We had four questions during the live chat:

  1. How do you decide what devices to test on? How do you prioritise those devices?
  2. How does your mindset differ based on the device you’re testing on? For example, for mobile testing you need to test for recoverability after signal loss. Do you have particular heuristics you use for each?
  3. What does your device testing lab look like? Do you use physical devices? Or Emulators, cloud, simulators?
  4. What has been your most interesting bug discovery while device testing?

There was a lot of interesting discussion happening around how best to tackle Device testing, it was wonderful to see so many different ideas and knowledge shared.  I encourage you to read the full transcript and continue to vote on the responses. Also, keep an eye on our events page for future #TestChats.

If reading through the chat inspires you, head over to The Club and post some of your own questions on the Exploratory Testing thread.
