A three-image collage humorously illustrating the software development process, comparing it to making a pizza shaped like a Minion.

Planning (Top Left): The dough is neatly shaped into the outline of a Minion, representing the initial design phase where the team outlines clear requirements and specifications for the product.

Development (Top Right): The Minion is decorated with toppings like cheese and pepperoni, symbolizing the development phase where features are implemented. The Minion still looks promising, similar to how software development progresses toward the intended outcome.

Production (Bottom Right): After baking, the Minion has lost much of its original shape and details, a humorous analogy for how the final product sometimes turns out after real-world constraints like testing, integration issues, or deployment challenges. This stage highlights the importance of quality assurance and thorough testing to ensure that the product aligns with initial expectations.

It's important to teach new people to software testing that theory sometimes doesn't match up to reality. We can have all the processes, intentions, frameworks and policies. But sometimes what appears in production is not what was intended...even if it still delivers on the basic foundations.

Dear TestBash 2024,

At the heart of the Brighton Dome,
You were set, on a beautiful stage,
Where history has been made,
By many great art, with lives touched,
Even the ABBA’s, will forever, know you by name!

This time, your doors opened,
To over 550 software quality enthusiasts,
With thy lights aglow!

Aboard your podium,
Inspiring talks delivered, by many great speakers,
In the presence of a great audience,
And a wonderful community,

A CASE is made:

“To foster your professional excellence, self-awareness is a moral responsibility”

As the whispers of the ocean fall,
By the sea, where Brighton lies

A testament is told,
Of some fate, some story,
Some guy, some time,
Some chance, some work,
Some results, some grace,
Some praise, some gratitude!

… And suddenly,
One day becomes some day!

As the sunsets stains the restless tide,
In Brighton’s heart, a guys dream made true,
A moment of fate, charm and grace you bestowed!

For the joy, and the happiness,
For the fulfillment, and the motivation,
For the experience, and the lessons,
And all else you gave, thank you TestBash!

Thank you Ministry of Testing,
For being the brainchild, and the Orchestrator,
Of the Bash we once wished to Test!

Thank you Brighton, for these memories,
And for the hope, I shall behold,
Until we meet again!

Sincerely,
DaMovementBoss ✊✊✊
We turned Barry Ehigiator's beautiful and heartfelt poem into a gif! Thankyou Barry for such kind and warm words.
Here we have the rollercoaster pose as a group of 4 attendees at TestBash 2024. all attendees have both arms in the air and are expression glee, excitement and feigned terror for their imaginary rollercoaster. Attendee 1 on the left is wearing a green tee with some writing on it, they also wear green cut out glasses and hold a bow tie on a stick. Attendee no2 is a little more at the back and we can jst about make out that they are wearing green tinsel around their neck along with a stripey long sleeved top. Attendee no3 is smack bam in the middle and wearing a lime green sweater matched perfectly with a green leopard print hat and orange cut out glasses. Attendee no3 has a large expression of the rollercoaster pose, with both their arms stretched out as high as they can go and their feign facial expression of terror is maxed out too. Attendee no4 has both hands up in the air and look like they are really enjoying themselves. They have tinsel around their neck and orange cut out glasses on their face.

Background: The green screen backdrop depicts a simple illustrated outer space scene. The main colour is purple, with cute stars and planets in shades of pink, blue, and white. About a third of the way down the screen, a logo appears. It reads "Ministry of Testing" in bold white text with a blue shooting star behind it. Next to the text, in the same bold white style, is a line drawing of the planet Saturn.

This pic depicts a 4 person TestBash Photo Booth moment. Attendee no1 is at the back left and has both hands in the air and look a bit like they are on a rollercoaster, they are also wearing all green including the decorative accessories from the dressing up table. Attendee no2 is closer to the camera and more in the centre they are throwing up a 'rock on' sign and you can just about make up a name tag on their right chest that says DAN. Attendee no2 has on red accessories in the form of plastic cut out glasses and a red zebra print hat. Attendee no3 is a little more towards the back and is peering at us over their orange cut out glasses whilst wearing an orange leopard print hat and a checkered plaid shirt. Attendee no4 is right at the front and to the right and wears a silver tinsel wig, pink cut out glasses and is peering at us through the cut-out glasses,. He is also wearing green.

This pic shows two TestBash attendees both wearing green and decorated like a christmas trees. Attendee no1 on the left wears a green tee, green tinsel and green silly cut out glasses. They are standing to the back of the frame and have their hands up and palms facing forward with a smile on their face. Attendee no2 is also wearing a green tee but is a slightly darker green. You can just about make up the design on the front is of a classic english pub with a motorbike parked outside. Atendee no2 wears a green tinsel wig, white cut out glasses and a hat on top the wig. Attendee no2 is closer to the camera and looking straight into the camera with a curious look. This is a very fun and festive feeling photo.

Leading your development team as an individual contributor image
Effectively lead and drive change as a tester by applying transformational and authentic leadership principles
A meme with two frames. The top frame is a character holding their arms out to a yellow balloon with "memes" written on it. The bottom frame has the same character looking backwards at another character with "memories" written on it. The yellow balloon with "memes" remains in view but is smaller in size than the previous frame's balloon.

It's exciting to add memes to the Ministry of Testing website. And it's also exciting to add photo memories to the Ministry of Testing website. Which one to prioritise can be a challenge. 😅
