How do you help those who are looking for a job?
There are people out of work right now and there is uncertainty in many industries. Let's come together as a community and help each other. Here are some ideas.Â
Create a portfolio of your career. Beth Marshall shares the why and what of portfolios. Take Nicola Lindgren's treasure trove of advice on how to find a software testing job. Post or apply for a job via the Ministry of Testing jobs board. Discover how the tester mindset can help you in your next interview, thanks to Elizabeth Zagroba. Plus, watch and share this career-focused video playlist.
If you see/read/hear that someone is looking for a role, amplify them so they can get in front of more people and increase their chances of getting in front of someone who is hiring. Message and share with a specific person if you spot an opportunity that might be a good fit for the job seeker. Those little bits of thoughtful tasks â a simple like, reshare or direct message â could make a difference.
And for those hiring right now, Sarah Deery wrote an excellent summary of how to interview software testers. It's based on a Dan Ashby Masterclass webinar recording which weâve made free and available until 27th April 2023. Enjoy!
