We're gearing up to MoTaCon, the largest UK quality and software testing conference out there. For me, it's becoming a time for reflection.
When I came back to lead MoT again, the only thing that really got me through it was the commitment to double down and build differently. I wasn't sure what it meant. But what I did feel is that life is short, and I may as well spend it building something special. I'm happy to say much progress has been made!
We were once ‘just a’ community and conference. We are now a platform, and I can say that with confidence.
We've changed how we operate; one membership also unlocks our in-person events and conferences. It's actually stupid crazy value.
We implemented clearer boundaries of participation, requiring Professional Membership. Crazy as it may sound, we are now serving more free members than ever. There's a lesson in community design there.
Our Chapters are growing. In a time when activity and engagement is down everywhere else, we have been sustaining it, and now growing again.
