What is it about in-person conferences that make them so great?
There's joy in meeting others and connecting over shared challenges. The buzz of meeting new people mixed with reconnecting with those who are familiar. Plus the learning opportunity is immense. That's not to say in-person conferences can feel overwhelming, indeed they can.
If you can get yourself to Manchester (UK) at the end of September then join us at TestBash UK. Behind the scenes, it's shaping up to be one of those in-person conferences that aim to offer a multitude of approaches to level up your testing skills. Plus they'll be plenty of opportunities to connect with others. Check out the new look event page and keep your eyes peeled for the new TestBash UK app to prepare your schedule in advance. I'd love to meet you there! You can still buy a ticket or win one.
Last week I was fortunate to have community chats with Zenzi Ali, Thomas Shipley and Mirza Sisic. We discussed how they might contribute (again) to the community. Look out for Zenzi who is hosting the next Welcome to the MoT Community session. A great way for those new to the testing community who want to learn how it can help their careers.
There are many ways to get involved and share your knowledge and experience. And be rewarded for it in the process! Continue to check the Contribute page for ways to get involved.
It was also good to see another open discussion about the use of "QA" and "Test" in a job title. Which reminded me of Martin Hynie's conversation with Gwen Diagram about experimenting with job titles. Lots of useful reflections and advice from around 38 minutes in.
I'm away for a few weeks so Áine (MarketingBoss) will deliver your newsletter over the coming weeks.
Look out for each other.
