Bleeding job titles: Our roles are becoming more specialised, not generalised image

Hi there. I'mΒ Rosie Sherry, and I'm yourΒ MoTaverse Weekly host.

For over a year now, we've been experimenting with the idea of photography and our very own MoTographer at our events. Two MoTaCons, several MoT London Chapters and LWAI, our photos we're building up. We needed a better way to store them and make them more easily accessible.

This week we put our MoTaCon 2026 photos live and it represents yet another shift for our platform. You wonder why it's worth taking note of it. There's nothing new with photos! I ask you to pause for a moment and to see this as Community as a Service.Β

Photos give you credibility, help you look amazing, they can be used for sharing online, and increasingly you can get your own professional profile shots taken. They are also a keepsake, a memory to look back on positively. This is a service we offer to our members, it is Community as a Service.

Closing the Test Automation Gap: Practical Solutions for Advanced QA Teams

Complex workflows, flaky tests, fragmented tools, and AI-driven pressure are making it harder for QA teams to keep up.

Do you practice CUWI (Community Unscripted With Intention)? β€” Simon Tomes

Community Unscripted With Intention (CUWI) is the practice of proactively creating moments for community members to discover more about themselves in realtime and ideally in the same physical space.

Bleeding job titles: Our roles are becoming more specialised, not generalised β€” Rosie Sherry

There's been a theme for a while. Not purely down to AI, but it has at least partially contributed to it.

The theme is that we are becoming more generalist. Our skills are blurring. We are expected to do more. It's hard to put ourselves and our skillsets into a singular box. And as a result we've been shifting towards an idea of being a generalist.

PHP Dramas, DOG Dexter and BIG Buttons β€” Demi and Shawn, with Louise and Oleksandr

The gang explore security vulnerabilities, the challenges of testing randomness and AI, and how better communication and collaboration can strengthen quality across teams.

The Rise of Agentic Testing β€” Naveen Khunteta

Leave with a powerful roadmap to stay relevant in this new era of software engineering.

AI Risk List: Socioeconomic & Environmental Impacts (6) β€” Rosie Sherry

Data and a list to help you explore product risks

TWiC in person: Pivots, pain sponges and purposeful pauses β€” Rosie Sherry & Simon Tomes, with Andy Claremont

What does it take to guide members through a pivot, soak up the pain of change, and know when to pause community activities or provide an easy off ramp?

99 Seconds at MoTaCon 2026 β€” MoTaCon 2026 attendees

Watch the world-famous rapid-fire 99 Second Talks delivered by various attendees at MoTaCon 2026.

The curious case of the self correcting bug β€” RenΓ© van Veldhuijzen

Explore how adaptive, self-healing AI tools and an AI-driven product risk analysis can take on the heavy lifting, helping testers evolve from bug hunters into quality architects.

RiskStorming decks: from swag to experiment β€” Frederick Vandenbosch

There was so much awesome swag at MoTaCon 2026! I managed to snag some RiskStorming decks (by sharing moments), with the idea of experimenting with them at work.
