A tester’s role in continuous quality

A new course co-created with the community

A tester’s role in continuous quality image

TLDR; We've just launched a new course for Professional Members. A tester's role in continuous quality:

We have all heard the expression, ‘quality is everyone's responsibility,’ coined by W. Edwards Deming in a manufacturing context. It has been widely accepted within software development that everyone has a role in contributing to the overall product quality of the software we develop. But how do we do that consistently and continuously, and what is our role in doing that? Just like testers have a continuous learning mindset. Our processes have continuous improvement through retrospectives. We can treat quality the same way and look to continuously improve it, too.

Through this course, you will learn what continuous quality (CQ) is and how a culture of (continuous) quality can bring many benefits to both teams and the products they develop. From how individuals can contribute to strategies, to models and metrics that can help evolve a team's CQ through the development process. You will hear real-life stories and advice from experts.

So, what? We view it as our role to observe and research testing trends on behalf of and with the people. We don't want to just gather and talk, our goal is also to take concise action on what we discover. This course is us taking action on our discoveries over the past few months.

Worth watching. The MoTaverse observes and then takes action on your behalf. Through our Testing Planet virtual events, Testing Trends and community discussions, we spent the past few months exploring and expanding our collective community knowledge on continuous testing, continuous quality, holistic quality, shift-left, shift-right, and shift-everywhere! It's now bundled up into a concise short course.

Catch up quick. It's designed to bring you what you need to know in the quickest possible timeframe. Just what we need in this fast-moving world.

What's more. It's created with leading testing and quality experts. Where else can you get such an awesome collective of knowledge together in one place?

Many thanks to Stu Day, Lisa Crispin, Janet Gregory, Ady Stokes, Rahul Parwal, Barry Ehigiator and Nataliia Burmei for leading the way.
